February 16, 2026, marked two years since the killing of Alexei Navalny. On the eve of that date, February 15, a rally was held in Chicago, organized by Voice of Free Russia, to honor his memory and express support for all political prisoners.
Participants spoke about Navalny as a person who refused to stay silent, who spoke the truth, and who encouraged others not to be afraid. His words — “Do not be afraid” — became one of the central themes of the rally.
Two years after his death, this message felt especially powerful. For those gathered, the rally was not only a day of remembrance, but also a moment of shared solidarity — a chance to stand together, reflect on who Navalny was, and feel once again that courage does not disappear even in the darkest times.
The event was also a political statement. Participants spoke about the responsibility of Putin and the Russian authorities for Navalny’s death, emphasizing that he remained consistent, courageous, and unwilling to be silenced.
The signs carried messages such as: We are not afraid. Free political prisoners. Never give up. Every dictator is mortal. No to totalitarianism in Russia.
This rally in Chicago became both an act of remembrance and a gesture of solidarity.

16 февраля 2026 года исполнилось два года со дня убийства Алексея Навального. Накануне, 15 февраля, в Чикаго прошел митинг, организованный Voice of Free Russia, чтобы почтить его память и выразить поддержку всем политическим заключенным.
Участники акции говорили о Навальном как о человеке, который не молчал, говорил правду и призывал других не бояться. Его слова — «Не бойтесь» — стали одной из главных тем митинга.
Спустя два года после его смерти этот призыв звучал на акции особенно остро. Для собравшихся митинг стал не только днем памяти, но и моментом общей солидарности, когда важно было просто быть рядом, вспомнить, кем был Навальный, и вновь почувствовать, что смелость не исчезает даже в самые тяжелые времена.
Акция стала и политическим высказыванием. Участники говорили об ответственности Путина и российской власти за гибель Навального, связывая ее с тем, что он оставался последовательным, смелым и не соглашался молчать.
На плакатах были надписи: We are not afraid, Free political prisoners, Never give up, Every dictator is mortal. No to totalitarianism in Russia.
